The Jersey Consumer Council is proud to be celebrating 30 years of championing Islanders’ rights by hosting its first Consumer Fair on 19 and 20 September at St Helier Town Hall. With a wide range of exhibitors confirmed, the two-day event promises to be a valuable, engaging, and empowering event for Islanders of all ages.
Why attend the Jersey Consumer Fair?
In an age where consumer choices can feel overwhelming – and with the rising cost of living putting pressure on many households – our event offers practical, face-to-face support from some of Jersey’s most trusted organisations.
Whether you’re trying to understand your data rights, make your home more energy-efficient, access financial guidance, learn about cyber security, or simply save money on everyday essentials, the Jersey Consumer Fair will bring help and advice directly to you.
Visitors will be able to:
- Get free advice on consumer rights, fraud, cyber security, pensions, transport, budgeting, and more
- Speak to local experts in-person and ask questions relevant to their individual needs
- Learn about useful services they may not know exist – from student support to welfare checks for vulnerable people
- Find new tools for making smart, informed choices as a consumer in Jersey.
This event is for everyone, whether you’re a student starting out, a young family juggling finances, or a retiree looking for security and peace of mind.

Jersey Consumer Council
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary of supporting consumers in Jersey, come and find out more about our work, and about how we can help you.

You’ll be able to get home safety tips, fire prevention advice, and information about emergency planning that could protect your family and property.
A representative said: “The Fire and Rescue Service keenly supports the Jersey Consumer Council’s Consumer Fair. Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC)
Learn how to protect your personal data, understand your privacy rights, and how businesses should handle your information.
Anne King, Operations Director, said: “Our mission is to protect people. We often say that we are ‘people protectors’ and not just a data protection regulator. Individuals deserve control over their personal data, clarity on how it is used, and the assurance that their rights will be upheld.
“The Consumer Council works on behalf of Islanders and we recognise the power in collaborating with the Council to help consumers to make informed decisions – decisions which can be based on respect for privacy rights and transparency”.
Jersey Post
The Jersey Post team will be on hand to answer questions about the Island’s postal system – about sending and receiving items, and the services they offer.
They will also have forms for many of the products they offer, such as SecureDrop or redirection, as well as information about the writing competition that they are launching.

Luke Shirley from Liberty Bus said: “As a community-focused bus operator, the Jersey Consumer Fair provides the perfect opportunity to engage with the public in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We will be providing information and advice on all things bus travel, including our travel training scheme, accessibility, journey planning, bus cards and much more. Come say hi!”
